5 Favorite Videos of 2012

Five Favorite Videos of 2012 by Jenn Wong

Here is a recap of some of my favorite videos of 2012.

This post first appeared on Move LifeStyle

From the uplifting to the inane, internet videos can easily overwhelm the casual viewer, making said viewer feel like a blind captain navigating floating detritus in a sea of mediocrity.  Yet, we have all had that moment, when your BFF posts a link to YouTube on your Facebook page that instantly makes you feel like the internet was tailor made just for you.  That is the beauty of the internet; there is something for everyone.

Tasked with finding my favorite videos of 2012, I tried to at least pick a sampling that didn’t include super memes like Psy’s Gangnam Style or anything by OK Go, which if you haven’t seen either – you must – if only to seem like you know what you’re talking about around anyone under 25, especially if you are under 25. I hope that these videos will help you believe in love, laugh out loud and see the triumph of the human spirit, or applaud the great accomplishments of humans big and small. This is a mini collection of moving pictures that have brought me great joy, so I hope they will be equally inspirational for you going into the New Year.

Isaac’s Live Lip-Dub Proposal

Get your Kleenex ready for this one.  It doesn’t matter how many times I have watched this, I cry every time.

“Eye Of The Sparrow”
A Bad Lip Reading of the First 2012 Presidential Debate

If you’re not familiar with Bad Lip Reading, what he does is nothing short of amazing.  I have no idea how he fits those words into their mouths, and perhaps it would ruin the magic if I did.

Mission Accomplished
Red Bull Stratos – World Record Freefall

A man jumps out of a spaceship and lives to tell the tale.  This is science at work. Nerds rule.

Speed of Light

Look at what you can do with a pocket projector.  Did I mention that nerds rule?

Caine’s Arcade

I hope you still have that Kleenex handy. Make your dreams a reality. This kid did.
