Last night I had the pleasure of seeing my dear friend Autumn Reeser in For the Record: The Soundtrack of Tarantino at Barre, vt. Barre, vt. is dinner theater, all grown up & wearing the little black dress to match. For a mere $15 cover, you get to see an up close & personal concert with the likes of Tracie Thoms (Death Proof, Joanne in RENT), Von Smith (American Idol), Jackie Thon (American Idol), Autumn Reeser (Entourage, No Ordinary Family) & Audra Mae. It is not often that you get so much star power in such an intimate setting. There is a $20 food/beverage minimum, but the food at Vermont is by Chef Stephane Beaucamp & there are many delicious choices ranging from spicy tuna tacos, heirloom beet salad or goat cheese truffle ravioli.
Both Upright Cabaret & Barre, vt. offer a stellar group of performers from both Broadway & Hollywood in an ever changing set list of Broadway musical reviews, movie inspired cabarets (like the show I saw – based on the music in Tarantino films), or sultry standards.
